Hola.

¿Eres un hablante nativo? ¿Estarías dispuesto a ayudarnos?

1 Notes

  1. The installation can only be done with a Windows computer.
The database cannot be installed with Mac computer.
Alpine devices can not read USB flash drives when they are written by a Mac. Because the Mac is writing additional (hidden) files.

  2. The Alpine device is based on iGO software of manufactor NNG.
Speedcams may not be visible in Switzerland, France and border areas.
That is a restriction of device software. That is not a mistake of our database.
Because the data is included in the download.

Refund is excluded in this case.

Contact our support team and send us your file AlpineNavi.exe. We could help in some cases.

2 Preparing USB flash drive

  1. Connect an USB flash drive to the computer.

  2. Reformat USB flash drive as FAT32 (not: FAT/FAT16 or exFAT).
Do not use the quick format.
Reformat as FAT32 before using is strictly recommended.

Important note: Always reformat, even if you have newly purchased the USB flash drive.

3 Download speed camera data

  1. Go to our productpage for Alpine INE-W970 & INE-W990.
We offer data of fixed speed cameras.
    Press the button Download.

  2. Make your choice on the download page.
Use the preselection list on the left side or the country list on the right.
Press the CTRL key for multiple choice.

  3. There is only one option in step 2.
The speed camera database will be loaded as 1 file.
Note: Alpine devices can not import custom POI icons. Devices always use default icons of the iGO software.

  4. Press button Download Now.
Save file alpine-ine-w9x0bt.zip on your hard disc.

Note: In most cases, the file is saved directly to the download folder of the computer.
Depending on your browser settings, sometimes you can choose the save location by yourself.

  5. Unpack the zip file.

Unpacking on a Windows computer: right-klick on the zip file > Extract all...

  6. You get the folder alpine-ine-w9x0bt through unpacking.
Find a subfolder Speedcam inside of the first folder.
Find the file SpeedCamText.txt inside of the subfolder.

4 Collect device information

  1. Connect the re-formatted USB flash drive to the Alpine device.

Note: The USB port is mostly on the back of the device. In order not to have to remove the device for an update, there should be installed an USB cable extension in the vehicle. Usually this USB cable extension should be in the glove compartment.

  2. Switch on the ignition.

  3. Go to menu Settings > Update.
    Press the button Go!.

Note: The button “Go!” will only be selectable if a compatible USB flash drive is connected.

  4. Synctool starts up.
Press the button Collect device information.

  5. Wait until device information are collected completely.
The message should be displayed: "Update or Backup successfully completed without errors".
    Press OK.

  6. Press Quit.

  7. Press Yes to quit the synctool.

  8. Remove USB flash drive from the device.
    Press Continue.
    Reboot the device.

5 Installation of speed camera data

  1. Connect the USB flash drive to the computer.

  2. Open Windows Explorer.
Search on your USB flash drive for the directory DSG201201 > BACKUP > content.

Copy and paste folder Speedcam and file SpeedCamText.txt into folder content.
Now your USB flash drive should look like our screenshot.

Note: The folder "Speedcam" has to be a subfolder of "content". The folder "Speedcam" is NOT a subfolder of "global_cfg".
The navigation software always searches for speed camera data (SpeedCamText.txt) only in that directory: DSG201201 > BACKUP > content > Speedcam.

  3. Safely remove the USB flash drive from the computer.

  4. Connect the USB flash drive to the Alpine device.

  5. Switch on the ignition.

  6. Go to menu Settings > Update.
    Press the button Go!.

  7. Synctool starts up.
Press the button Copy updates to your device.

  8. Press Yes to import data of speed cameras.

  9. Wait until update is installed completely.
The message should be displayed: "Update or Backup successfully completed without errors".
    Press OK.

  10. Press Quit.

  11. Press Yes to quit the synctool.

  12. Remove USB flash drive from the device.
    Press Continue.
    Reboot the device.

6 Enabling speed cameras

  1. Make sure that the Alpine device has real GPS fix.
Your vehicle should be outdoors. Probably, you will not find real GPS fix if your vehicle is in the garage.

  2. Go to menu Settings > Warnings > Speed Camera Warning.
Note: The wording of that menu can be different. It depends on installed software version.

Typ of alert: Sound and Display (recommended)
    Acoustic alert: When approaching (recommended)

Note: The iGO software manages all acoustic and visual alerts. We have no influence on acoustic or visual alerts. Our database is just a POI file.
The alerts may change after map or software updates.

Note: In most devices you have to choose a TTS speech for acoustic alerts. TTS speeches tells you street names and other notifications.

7 Updating speed cameras

Repeat all steps of the guide above to update speed cameras in your device.
    Monthly updates will be recommended.
